Virtual Printer Interface for Security Camera Connectivity vsi pro text inserter

Requirements:
¡ Sapphire with a Base 153 or later application
¡verifone printer Feature card with Bravo
¡ Serial cable 13836-XX
¡ Either a straight-through or null modem adapter (at some sites)

Installation
Procedures
for Ruby
1. Perform a Gemstall upgrade or a new install for a virtual printer.
2. Select an unused port on the Ruby. The port must be set up as
follows:
¡ 9600 baud
¡ 8 bits
¡ No parity
¡ 1 stop bit
¡ Config bit set to 1000-0080 (Base 153)
3. Connect the serial cable to the selected port. The serial port with the VeriFone
cable provides RS-232 DTE (Data Terminal Equipment). If necessary, contact
VeriFone for the correct adapter.
4. Connect the adapter or the other end of the cable to the security camera
interface.
5. Install a VeriFone Feature Card with Bravo.
6. Reboot the unit.
Installation
Procedures
for Topaz
For Topaz, a software upgrade is not necessary.
1. Connect the serial cable to COM port 5. The serial port with the VeriFone
cable provides RS-232 DTE (Data Terminal Equipment). If necessary, contact
VeriFone for the correct adapter.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the security camera interface.
3. Install a VeriFone Feature Card with Bravo in the Sapphire unit.
4. On the laptop, open Sapphire Management Suite (SMS) Configuration
Manager and log on.
5. Click Sapphire > System Properties.
6. In dvr.multicastEnable, change gTrueh to gFalse.h
7. Click Save.
8. Reboot the Topaz.
Testing
Installation
To test the installation, use the laptop as a Virtual printer and do the following:
1. Connect an RS-232 cable from the laptop to the assigned COM port on the
point of sale (POS) that needs to be tested.
2. Open HyperTerminal on the laptop using the following settings:
¡ Auto or VT100 Emulation
¡ 9600 Baud Rate
¡ 8 Bit
¡ No Parity
3. Log onto Sales on the POS being tested and perform a transaction while
watching the HyperTerminal display. The HyperTerminal should display the
transaction.
NOTE: HyperTerminal only displays the most current line of information. It does
not scroll.
